Description:
A football academy in Abu Dhabi is seeking a dedicated and experienced Academy Physiotherapist to join its Physical Performance & Medical team. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about working with young athletes and contributing to the development, performance, and well-being of elite youth football players.
The successful candidate will play a key role in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and overall physical management of academy players, ensuring they receive high-quality medical and performance support throughout their development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide physiotherapy support to academy players during training sessions and matches
• Assess, treat, and manage sports-related injuries and rehabilitation programs
• Work closely with coaching and medical staff to monitor player fitness and recovery
• Implement injury prevention strategies and conditioning programs
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with safeguarding policies
• Provide pitch-side emergency care and respond effectively to trauma situations
Essential Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy with HCPC/CSP registration or an equivalent international qualification
• Valid UAE license (DOH, DHA, or MOH) or eligibility to obtain one
• ITMMiF or equivalent pitch-side trauma qualification
• At least 3 years of experience working in elite sports, ideally in football academies
• Strong understanding of adolescent athlete development and management
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Clear criminal background check in line with safeguarding requirements
Desirable Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree (MSc) in Sports Physiotherapy
• ATMMiF qualification or equivalent advanced trauma training
• Experience using performance monitoring tools such as GPS or VALD systems
• Arabic language skills will be considered an advantage
