Job purpose

To ensure accurate daily financial records and prepare monthly financial overviews.

Key responsibilities

Maintaining financial records

• Analyze and maintain the general ledger
• Prepare monthly journal entries and adjustments, including supporting documentation and appropriate descriptions
• Prepare monthly cost allocation, financial statements and bank reconciliations, including foreign currency accounting
• Close financial statements

Audits

• Ensure financial records are maintained as per internal and external audit requirements
• Assist auditors with journal entry examinations

Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly closing

• Support the monthly, quarterly and yearly financial closing
• Analyze monthly variances, investigate and adjust in compliance with internal and external accounting practices
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policies and accepted accounting practices

Qualifications

Job requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• CPA is preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Financial Accounting preferably in a FMCG company
• At least 3 years’ experience in general ledger accounting
• Experienced in using JDE as Financial application
• Strong financial acumen
• Accurate and detailed oriented
• Good problem solving skills
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
• Good communication skills
• Analytical thinker
